🗺️ How do offline maps work?

All maps are pre-loaded with the app during installation. Once downloaded, you can use them anywhere without an internet connection. The maps are stored on your device and take up approximately 150MB of storage space. Perfect for remote safari locations where cell coverage is limited or non-existent!

🦒 Which parks are included?

SavannaQuest includes offline maps for 10 major African national parks:

• Kruger National Park (South Africa) - 19,485 km²
• Serengeti National Park (Tanzania) - 14,763 km²
• Etosha National Park (Namibia) - 22,270 km²
• Chobe National Park (Botswana) - 11,700 km²
• Okavango Delta (Botswana) - 15,000 km²
• Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Tanzania) - 8,292 km²
• Tarangire National Park (Tanzania) - 2,850 km²
• Amboseli National Park (Kenya) - 392 km²
• Tsavo East National Park (Kenya) - 13,747 km²
• Addo Elephant National Park (South Africa) - 1,640 km²

📍 Does GPS tracking work offline?

Yes! GPS uses satellites, not cellular data. Your device's GPS receiver works anywhere in the world without requiring an internet connection. The app records your route and shows your position on the offline maps in real-time. However, make sure you have enabled location permissions for the app in your device settings.

🔋 Will this drain my battery?

GPS tracking does use battery power. To maximize your safari experience, we recommend:

• Bringing a car charger or portable power bank
• Enabling Low Power Mode when not actively navigating
• Closing other apps running in the background
• Reducing screen brightness
• Keeping your device out of direct sunlight (heat affects battery life)

💾 How much storage does the app need?

Approximately 150MB total - this includes the app itself and all 10 park maps. We've optimized the maps to balance detail with file size, ensuring you get high-quality maps without filling up your phone.

🐛 How do I report a bug?

We appreciate bug reports! Please email us at support@savannaquest.app with:

• A clear description of the issue
• Screenshots or screen recordings (if applicable)
• Your device model (e.g., iPhone 14 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S23)
• Operating system version (e.g., iOS 17.2, Android 14)
• Steps to reproduce the problem

📱 What devices are supported?

iOS: Requires iOS 15.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Android: Requires Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later.

🔄 How do I delete my safari data?

Go to Settings in the app and tap "Clear All Safari Data". This will permanently delete all your saved routes and location history. This action cannot be undone, so make sure to export any routes you want to keep before clearing.

🌐 Can I use this without internet?

Absolutely! That's the whole point. SavannaQuest is designed to work completely offline. Once installed:

• ✅ Maps work offline
• ✅ GPS tracking works offline
• ✅ Route recording works offline
• ✅ All features work offline

You only need internet to download the app initially. After that, enable Airplane Mode if you want to save battery!

💰 Is there a premium version?

Currently, all features are available to all users at no cost. We may introduce premium features in future updates.

🔒 Is my location data private?

Yes! All your safari data stays on your device. We never send your location to our servers or share it with anyone. Read our Privacy Policy for complete details.

📸 Can I add photos to my routes?

We're thinking about allowing you to attach photos to specific waypoints along your route. Send us an email at support@savannaquest.app if this is functionality you would like.

🗺️ Will you add more parks?

Yes! We're actively working on adding more parks. If there's a specific park you'd like to see, please email us at support@savannaquest.app. We prioritize based on user requests.
